Day Two - 23/2/2008

We placed our bags in the locker before entering the Casino. I was quite relieved that Sok Yin's bag could fit into the locker because it looks huge relative to the size of the locker. Haha. At the entrance, Yu Ting and I were asked for our identification documents, as expected. But when we went in for the second time after breakfast, even Jiarong was asked for his passport. Haha. See la, always say my pic look like kid la.

We went to the Big/Small table and the guys started to placed their bets. Initially they won quite alot and if I am not wrong it was enough to cover for the expenses of our international buffet breakfast. In the end I think only Quan You won a bit although he was quite suay for a period of time. Haha. Yu Ting and I just watched by the side but we were not bored at all (though a little tired). It was something fresh for us because it was our first time entering a casino. It was interesting watching the dealers' handsigns and hearing the ATs shout "PICTURE!"

At 12 plus we went to the arcade. The arcade has many of those kiddy games and they reminded me of the arcade in Parkway Parade which I loved to go when I was a kid. Haha. These games can no longer be found in the current arcades in Singapore already. Anyway, by then, Jiarong was already half dead because he played WOW till 4+ the previous day. Yu Ting and I only played 1 car racing game while I think Wei Lun and Ricky were the most active.

Ricky's scores were not bad.

After using all the credits we have exchanged, we took 2 cabs down to the hotel in KL. After driving for a few minutes, the taxi drivers stopped by the roadside and asked us to drink the water that was flowing downhill. Quan You even collected one whole bottle of it and it lasted him for the rest of the trip. Lol. Meanwhile, Yu Ting was suan-ed by the guys for throwing her Vitapo bottle away in the casino. The Vitapo bottle is "special" because it is an expensive bottle of mineral water.
After a quick nap, the taxi arrived at the hotel in KL. It is situated very near to their "Raffles Place" I guess because I could see the Twin Tower? The size of the room is like a little smaller than our hall's double room. Haha. Though a little small, the hotel is new and clean. I think it's quite worth it for 100RM per room. Thanks, Quan You, for helping us with the booking :)

.
Behind the translucent pink frame is actually the toilet. When we switched on the lights in the toilet, we got pink light in the room. Lol. I think Sok Yin will like it =)

The hand-painted walls

Do I have to label this picture? Haha =P

Playing with the mirror effects. Hee. There are altogether 4 mirrors in the small little room!

Decoration or advertisement in the room? Probably both.

This is the legendary King Koil pillow. Both Yu Ting and I agreed that it's the most comfortable pillow we have ever slept on for the past 21 years. We are going to search for it in Singapore.
.
We were so relieved that we could finally bathe! *Recall: Our clothes had the smell of the greysih water. Lol. Because we needed more time for our hair to dry, Yu Ting and I did not have enough time to sleep before meeting the guys for concert. Hence, after chit-chatting for a while we went to the Subway at the hotel lobby for lunch. The prices are about the same as those in the Singapore outlets but we were disappointed when we realised that our bread were chao-ta :( We had a hard time swallowing.

At 6pm we met the guys again and we took cab to the stadium. I didnt know that many taxi drivers in KL dont turn on their meters. At the moment we flagged the cab, the taxi driver asked us for the location we were heading to and immediately quoted us a price.

Before we entered the stadium, we queued for the Jay merchandises. The queue was super long and there were many stalls selling food and lightsticks along the roadside. Many people tried to walk past us in order to enter the stadium but they were probably too excited over the concert that they kept stepping on Yu Ting's feet.

Many people + A lot of rubbish on the floor

We queued till the Sun knocked off from work.

We took pics while waiting. The people behind us are from Singapore too.

Finally entered the stadium. First time watching a concert at an outdoor stadium.

How the stage looks like from out seats
.
The first song was some fast song which I dont know. Haha. Anyway, I still like his soothing songs more. Too bad he didnt sing my favourite song - 搁浅 but it was kind of expected since this is such an old song. I didnt have high hopes on that but overall, I was a little disappointed with the concert because it seemed to me that Jay was singing half-heartedly at the beginning. Not only did he forget the lyrics for x times, he also let the audience sing at those non-critical parts of the songs which I personally found it weird. When he danced 牛仔很忙 it seemed to be only 50% of the performance in his MV. Luckily for the second-half of the concert he was quite on form in terms of his singing. The concert might have been more enjoyable if I had found his jokes funny like many of the other audience. Nevertheless, I would definitely not disagree that he is indeed a talent :)
After the concert....
.
Because there were alot alot alot of people, it was rather chaotic when the concert ended. Things were made worse when so many of the cars were parked on the pavements or at some area which were supposed to be meant for pedestrians.
.
We were supposed to meet up with Ricky and Wei Lun. They were at some pub in "Chinatown". Lol. On our way there, we walked past a street full of churches while I tested Jiarong's knowledge on Energy's songs. Hmm.. quite impressed that he knows more than his favourite 爱失控. LOL.
.
In the end the 4 of us were supposed to settle dinner by ourselves. We went into a restaurant but left after realising there was only one person taking orders while almost all the tables were waiting for him. Hence, we went into the restaurant next door. According to the signboard, it was supposed to sell something different from the previous restaurant. But after a while, we realised that we would be waiting for the same person to take orders. Tired and hungry, we took cab back to hotel and ordered Mc Delivery. All of us had Filet-O-Fish.

Warning: This post (and subsequent posts on the trip) will be full of details and without 重点 for memory-keeping sake. Please bear with me =P

DAY ONE - 22/2/2008

Yu Ting and I met Quan You and Jiarong at Kranji MRT station to take Bus 170. After we were done at the Singapore customs, we could board 170 again to cross the causeway. But because the bus queue was too long, we were afraid that we might miss the bus to Genting. Hence, we decided to walk across the causeway.

At the start it was quite interesting as it was the first time Yu Ting and I crossed the causeway in this manner. After walking for a while, we saw quite a big pool of dirty water beside the pavement. Just when Yu Ting said something like "the cars better dont splash the water on us..", one kind driver really did it and we were splashed with the greyish water. Yucks. Quan You hurried us to walk faster but because I was wearing my Mphosis slippers that has a glossy finish, it was very slippery for me to walk at the normal pace, needless to say at a higher speed. Hence, Jiarong had to suffer the slow speed with me.

When we finally reached JB, we realised that we were early and sat down at a roadside coffeeshop. The guys had their dinner while waiting for Ricky and Wei Lun to meet us at the coffeeshop. When the both of them reached, we were told that they have been cheated for a higher priced bus ticket which they have bought about a week ago. Ricky didnt look very happy but maybe he was just trying to be funny. I dont know. Haha.

In order to let time pass, we went to Citisquare for the toilet and watched a bit of performance. Along the way, we discussed about the 304 quiz and tried to persuade Ricky not to start playing World of Warcraft though we know it is most probably not going to help much. Haha.
After a while, we finally boarded the not-very-comfortable bus. (But thanks to Ricky and Wei Lun for helping to buy the tickets though :)

The guys didnt want to take picture. According to them, photos shouldnt be taken before entering the casino. Both of us didnt understand why because we didnt watch 赌神。

After a few hours of journey, the bus stopped at a terminal for the passengers to have toilet break and food. The prices of the food there are quite pricey. The most memorable one would be the cost of toasts and 4 eggs --> RM 8

After the break we went back to sleep again before we finally reached Genting. Jiarong was careless enough to forget to bring his jacket. Haha. As his tutorial mates for 3 years, I think we need less than 2 seconds to guess if he would be feeling cold in that kind of temperature. Haha. Luckily Quan You was taking out his jacket when we reached and it became his life jacket.

To be continued....

Despite my usual habits of sleeping late, I am actually someone who loves sleeping. Lol. Dont laugh in disbelief. It is TRUE. Haha. Take today for example, I have slept from 9am to 6pm, then 8pm to 2am. Hee. Maybe it doesn't prove much. Haha. But it's ok. Lol.

Hope to blog about the trip tomorrow after I get all the photos from Yu Ting!

In short, I've enjoyed myself VERY MUCH. *Contented*

Happy Valentine's / Friendship Day 2008

Walked around to eat and chit-chat with Cheng Ling after Lecture before I met my bestest friends at Clarke Quay at night. This year's Vday is a little special because Sharon and I can get to celebrate with Shu Qi and Zixin since their valentines are at overseas. Haha. Indeed our honour k! =)

Everyone was wearing a dress. Lol. Thank you Zixin for coming up with the theme. Hehe. After dinner, I had supper with Kun Da and we discussed about his new MV that made me blush the other day (see below). Haha. Bleah. No la, I went back hall with Zixin. Haha. The 179 Queue was as long as the queue you see at 8am. The only difference is... the queue is made up of couples. Gees. I felt extra-ed. Haha. Then ah, I was supposed to do my tutorial diligently as someone has been reminding me that the topic is not easy. But I was just too tired and lazy to do anything especially after knowing that he himself has not done it yet (means he wont scold me). Haha.

Anyway, hope all of you enjoyed that day!

Now I really have to set the correct mood to study for my 7.5% quiz next week. Cannot use "tired" as excuse anymore.

Now I shall generously share with you all his MV in my fav song for year 2o07. Love the lyrics~

Completed my final presentation in NTU yesterday. The preparations on the day before was one of the most stressful torture because I am definitely not a fast learner. Haha. Ok, I am just relieved that everything is over now.

Went to JP to have lunch with Jiarong and Wei Ming after that. I guess the last time when the 3 of us had meal together was the dinner at Kuishin-bo. last year? As usual, Jiarong asked me some funny weird questions and Wei Ming sided with him.

After that, Jiarong and I met Quan You, Ricky and Wei Lun in Chinatown for KTV. Ricky had training for 北极星的眼泪again. Hmmm, better than the other time. At least he got the song name right this time instead of singing 错了再错. Hahaha. Then cheeky Jiarong sang O sole mio so seriously that I laughed non-stop. It sounded quite nice leh. He really should have sang that for GV17 presentation. Haha. Anyway, together with Yu Ting, the 6 of us will be going to KL during recess week for Jay Chou's concert. =)

Before I headed to my grandpa house for reunion dinner, I met my sisters who were at Orchard for some last minute shopping. I met many people in Orchard! First it was Kah Lin, who told me that Anli was in town too. Then I saw Chwee Ping from Credit Suisse. Touched that she could still remember my name! Haha. A-ed at Teng Whye at Taka basement and returned him the $ I owed him. Haha. He is a qualified loan shark can. Haha. Thanks for the discount! Lol. Besides all the names I have mentioned, Quan You just told me that they actually saw me and my sisters in Taka. Hmm.. I appreciate that they ignored me. Haha.

Anyways, I will be in Malaysia from Friday to Sunday. Happy new year, my dear friends! =)

Doing research is a test of patience, especially when many of the sites in the database are not functioning well. Argh. I am supposed to be very enthusiastic about my final project in NTU. But I think I fell asleep for more than 5 times today already, even though time is running out. Sigh. I think I have lost my motivation somehow.

I got something to confess. It has been making me very uneasy over the past 48 hours. Haha. Yesterday we had our 304 presentation and we incorporated a modified version of "Deal or no Deal" in our presentation. By right, whatever the participants choose will be eliminated for the final deal. But somehow I misinterpreted it as giving out all of the prizes that were selected. Haha. *Use hands to cover face*

How?? Stupidity cannot be cured. Lol.
